12:35 Shore Shanty

The switch to hurdles looks sure to bring improvement from SHORE SHANTY. She has a good jumping pedigree and is taken to make a successful debut over obstacles. On My Command has the best bumper form and looks the obvious alternative, although Keepscalling and Crackin’ Rose are possible improvers.

13:07 Go As You Please

It’s hard to get away from GO AS YOU PLEASE (NAP). Not only is he one of the few with chasing experience, but he’s run well in all five starts over fences – looking a safe conveyance in the process. It was a modest race that Dollar And A Dream won at Wincanton but, provided the ground remains goodish, he could be the danger.

13:40 Valleres

A trappy betting heat, with Neil The Legend perhaps the most exposed and yet even he could have improvement lurking now back with Nicky Henderson. The market should shed some light on expectations for La Domaniale, but VALLERES and Threeunderthrufive have confirmed their recent wellbeing with stylish victories. The King horse perhaps achieved that bit more at Wetherby.

14:15 Checkitout

If able to recapture the form that saw him win over 3m here last season, Marble Moon would have a great chance off this 9lb lower mark. However, he has been far from convincing this season and the two at the opposite end of the handicap, CHECKITOUT and Don Lami, make greater appeal.

Narrow preference is for Nigel Twiston-Davies’ runner who was doing some good late work in quite a hot contest on his chasing debut and should relish this longer trip. Forgot To Ask looks the best of the rest.

14:50 Overpriced Mixer

Nicky Henderson’s OVERPRICED MIXER did his best to throw it away late on at Kempton, but he had been fairly faultless up until then. Even with a penalty, he looks too good for those with hurdling experience, so it’s a case of whether respected Flat recruits Numberoneson or State Crown can step up to the plate. The two are feared in that order.

15:25 Moon Of Baroda

Assuming all is well with Lygon Rock after he broke a blood vessel last time, there is every reason to expect another bold bid. However, MOON OF BARODA has shown enough over hurdles to suggest this opening handicap mark is within his powers and he can get off the mark at this game, possibly at the main expense of the relatively unexposed Don’t Shout.

15:55 Fast Getaway

Nothing more than pedigrees and trainer records to go on. Doddiethegreat, Gala De Corton and Gregor hail from powerful, in-form yards but the vote goes to Jonjo O’Neill’s FAST GETAWAY, who makes plenty of appeal on breeding.
