Several likely younger contenders, notably Templebredin, Black Samurai, Saint Benedict and Super Citizen.

A cracking hunter chase for the time of year, featuring the first and second from last year’s Foxhunters. IT CAME TO PASS has had the measure of Billaway generally and should do again. The main danger to the selection might well be Aloneamongmillions, comfortable winner of the Tetratema Cup in March and a very promising horse.
14:00 Resurrected Duke
Just outbattled in a similar Clonmel contest last month, RESURRECTED DUKE can gain a deserved first win here. Some Can Sing disgraced himself last time but looks an improving type who could make a bold bid if behaving himself, while others with claims on recent form include Rebel Waltz and Twilight Girl.

A lamentably poor contest for a Grade 1 track. Very few of these make any appeal, but perhaps DELIRIOUS LOVE has a bit more scope than most of these after a good run over fences at Kilbeggan. Rule Of June and Balgowlagh might be next best.

An odd sort of race as the three best horses are the three reserves and if any one of them got in they would have a favourite’s chance. In the absence of that, top-weight ZACCARELA should win on the basis of his good second to Sunday’s Navan winner King Alex in a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle. Sweet Cassie might be the biggest danger.
15:30 Sayce Gold
Despite being absent since January, SAYCE GOLD should take plenty of beating judged on that Cork third where she had three subsequent winners behind. The most appealing point-to-point form of the remainder is held by Eyre Square and The Mean Queen.
16:05 Anglers Crag
Quite speculative but the form of the Ballindenisk point-to-point win of ANGLERS CRAG is working out well, the second having won a point and the fourth a Wincanton bumper on Saturday, and he gets the vote over recent Curraghmore winner Split The Bucket.
