Horse Racing tips: 8 punts we rate at Stratford on Sunday

The Racing Post’s tipster reckons Scrutinise in the 15:10 is the NAP of the card.

12:20 Phoenix Dawn

Queen Of The Court could be seen to better effect now away from slow ground and she’s worth a market check. Cremant has been performing with credit in handicaps and may still have a bigger effort in him, but PHOENIX DAWN ran well in a Huntingdon claimer last week and may be able to make a winning start for his new stable.

12:50 Innisfree Lad

This should be good for INNISFREE LAD, who has two hurdle wins under his belt for new connections and can run off the same mark now back over fences as when hardly turning a hair at Huntingdon last week.

Cracker Jak is the only one to make any appeal against him as he was a promising hurdler early in 2019 and there is still time for him to make a chaser. Wahwonaisa, another who has been lightly raced in recent times, has possibilities on his best hurdle form.

13:25 Miss Gemstone

Kim Bailey is having a good autumn and the lightly raced mare MISS GEMSTONE gets the nod on her chase/seasonal debut. Apple Mack goes well fresh and has already shown promise over fences, and he is feared most back from some time off. Conditions will be key for chase newcomer and dual good-ground hurdle winner Dubai Outlaw.

14:00 Prince Escalus

The Jonjo O’Neill-trained PRINCE ESCALUS beat a useful yardstick (who has won since) when easily making all on last month’s hurdle debut at Huntingdon and he’s taken to defy a penalty. Animal has shown promise in both bumpers and is feared most now tackling hurdles, although dual point winner Movethechains could also be a big danger. Fantastikas and Witness Protection are others who could run well.

14:35 Bathiva

Having again had plenty in hand when winning on last Sunday’s stable debut at Huntingdon, the progressive BATHIVA should be tough to beat under a 7lb penalty. Chase/handicap newcomer Prince Llywelyn is a very interesting runner at the foot of the weights, however, as he’s a strapping six-year-old who showed useful form in bumpers.

15:10 Scrutinise

The in-form SCRUTINISE (NAP) can return to winning ways having bumped into a well-handicapped 8/15 favourite when second here last time. Legal Ok was running well when last seen earlier in the year and goes well fresh, so could pose the chief threat. The unexposed four-year-old Go On Brycey Lad is one to watch in the betting on handicap debut.

15:40 Kilpin

If there’s an improver lurking at this basement level it’s KILPIN, whose chase debut wasn’t devoid of promise. It says plenty about the race that the second choice is Hold Me Tight, who is 0-35 under rules. Kapsize and Coby Nine may also have some say.

16:10 Rainyday Woman

There are some interesting newcomers on show, notably Fontana Ellissi and Masada Knight, but both Greatest Star and RAINYDAY WOMAN have shown promise in bumpers. The selection, who was placed in good contests on both runs for Pam Sly, can prove too strong now starting out for Paul Nicholls.

Navan tips summary:

13:25 Miss Gemstone
14:00 Prince Escalus
14:35 Bathiva

16:10 Rainyday Woman
