The Mares’ Hurdle has been the most controversial race on this year’s Cheltenham Festival schedule.
That’s because connections of last season’s winner Lossiemouth and the brilliant Brighterdaysahead were umming and ahing about whether to keep their horses to their own sex or tackle the cream of the crop in the Champion Hurdle.
Gordon Elliott has sent Brighterdaysahead to the championship contest but Lossiemouth goes for the Mares’ Hurdle, which sees the girls tackle 10 flights over 2m4f on the Old Course, as she bids to retain her crown.
Mares’ Hurdle odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details for this year’s renewal are below.
