Cheltenham Race Card Today: Your ultimate guide to Day 1 on Tuesday

We're like kids at Christmas!

Constitution Hill wins the Champion Hurdle

We’ve waited… and waited… and waited… but the Cheltenham Festival is finally here!

The opening day of the mega meet is headlined by the race of the season as Constitution Hill bids to regain the Champion Hurdle crown from State Man, but magnificent mare Brighterdaysahead could have something to say about that.

There is a jam-packed afternoon of action before we get to the feature and it all kicks off with the Michael O’Sullivan Supreme Novices’ Hurdle as the Willie Mullins-trained Kopek Des Bordes attempts to prove his Dublin Racing Festival rout was no one-off.

The Closutton chief could go two from two as Majborough, last season’s Triumph Hurdle hero, heads the betting for the Arkle and then racegoers will be treated to the first handicap of the fiesta courtesy of the Ultima.

There is further top-level racing courtesy of the Mares’ Hurdle, which sees Lossiemouth attempt to retain her title after being rerouted from the Champion Hurdle , and a couple of big-field handicaps round off proceedings.

Cheltenham Festival odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise, everything you need to know about today’s action at Prestbury Park is below.
