The Arkle Chase is the first race over the larger obstacles at the Cheltenham Festival as leading novices attempt to jump their way to the prestigious prize.
Named in honour of one of the great National Hunt horses, the Arkle is a fast-and-furious contest as there are 13 fences to be tackled at speed on the Old Course.
Gaelic Warrior dispelled concerns over his preference for jumping right by landing last year’s renewal and Willie Mullins could saddle the winner of this season’s edition as Majborough is the hot favourite after chief rival Sir Gino picked up a serious injury.
