When is the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle 2025? Cheltenham date, start time, runners and betting

It all begins here!

Slade Steel wins the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival

The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – which will be run in honour of Michael O’Sullivan – is the traditional curtain raiser at the Cheltenham Festival.

The famous Cheltenham Roar greets the flag fall as the runners charge towards the first of eight hurdles over the two-mile trip on the Old Course.

Slade Steel made the most of testing conditions to land last year’s less-than-stellar renewal, but this season’s edition could throw up an exciting type if the Willie Mullins-trained Kopek Des Bordes lives up to the hype after his demolition job at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Supreme Novices’ Hurdle odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details for this year’s renewal are below.
