We’ve reached the make-or-break stage in the battle for the inaugural David Power Jockeys’ Cup.
The competition – named in honour of Paddy’s dad and our legendary co-founder – pits riders into battle on ITV jump races for a slice of the record-breaking £1.5million prize fund.
It started on the opening day of November Meeting and concludes on the Friday of the Grand National Festival at Aintree – but the upcoming Cheltenham Festival represents a critical phase.
A bumper 24 races from the Fez, which runs from Tuesday to Friday next week, will be shown live on ITV Racing and that could have major ramifications on the leaderboard, which is currently headed by Harry Skelton.
There are a total of 672 points up for grabs across the four-day fiesta, with a maximum of 240 points available to any single jockey, and the current top 10 are all in with a mathematical chance of bagging the £500,000 top prize.
The David Power Jockeys’ Cup could be won or lost at Cheltenham, adding an extra layer of interest and excitement to the biggest races of the season.
Cheltenham tickets are still available if you want to see the greatest show on turf – and you can expect to see the jockeys scrapping for every point possible.
David Power Jockeys’ Cup odds are on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise, the standings for this season’s competition can be found below.
