A total of 90 horses are in the mix for the big race on Saturday, 5th April which represents a slight dip compared to 12 months ago – and 48 of the potential hopefuls are trained in Ireland.
Reigning champ I Am Maximus is one of 10 potentials for Willie Mullins, who has also entered last week’s Thyestes scorer Nick Rockett and Scottish Grand National winner Macdermott.
Gordon Elliott has lodged 16 entries including last year’s Grand National runner-up Delta Work and Cheltenham Gold Cup second Gerri Colombe.
Irish Grand National winner Intense Raffles joins the likes of Envoi Allen, Hewick, Inothewayurthinkin, Minella Indo and Monty’s Star in potentially bidding to bring the spoils back to Ireland.
Iroko is the leading British prospect in our antepost betting, while Cotswold Chase hero L’Homme Presse and Grand Sefton scorer King Turgeon have also been handed entries.
The Grand National weights are set to be published on Tuesday, 11th February.
