The Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot is the final Grade 1 contest on the horse racing schedule before we tuck into our Crimbo dinners.
Stamina is needed by the bucketload as 3m½f awaits the runners, and the contest should provide a few early clues for the biggest race of the season in the division, the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Crambo emerged as a new star on the staying scene after pipping popular old boy Paisley Park by a short head in last year’s thrilling renewal.
