When is the Betfair Chase 2024? Haydock date, start time, runners and betting

Grade 1 honours up for grabs!

The Jumps steps up a gear as senior stayers come out to play for the first Grade 1 contest of the British National Hunt season.

The Betfair Chase at Haydock, which provides a proper stamina test over an extended three miles and one furlong, has been won by some of the greatest to have graced the game since its inauguration in 2005.

It regularly attracts small fields, but we had a surprise winner last year as Royale Pagaille delivered a career-best effort to boot aside Bravemansgame, Corach Rambler and subsequent Ryanair Chase scorer Protektorat.

Betfair Chase odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details for this year’s renewal are below.

Betfair Chase odds are on paddypower.com and prices for the leading contenders can be seen on our snazzy widgets below.

Grey Dawning is the favourite with Paddy Power to win the Betfair Chase as last season’s Turners Novices’ Chase scorer prepares to make his seasonal reappearance.

Royale Pagaille is next in the market as last year’s winner thrives over course and distance and any rain is likely to be welcomed by connections.

Ahoy Senor is third in our betting after the enigmatic performer blew off the cobwebs with a third-place finish in the Old Roan last month.
