British Champions Day looks set to be a corker as the curtain comes down on the core Flat season at Ascot on Saturday.
A clash between leading three-year-olds Economics and Calandagan takes place in the feature, the Qipco Champion Stakes, which is the penultimate race on the six-contest card.
It all kicks off with Kyprios attempting to regain the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup and complete an unbeaten campaign, before the sprinters take centre stage with Kinross also looking to win back a former title in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes.
The girls then get their chance to strut their stuff in the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes as Kalpana bids to bring up a hat-trick, and fellow filly Tamfana also goes for a third win on the spin in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
The final lick of action comes courtesy of the Balmoral Handicap over the straight mile as a maximum field of 20 including C&D scorers Sir Busker, Elnajmm and Daysofourlives go to post.
