The equine and human stars of the Flat game are set to descend on Ascot for the end-of-season highlight on the British horse racing calendar.
British Champions Day lives up to the billing as there are six stonking renewals – including four Group 1s – worth £4million in prize money on the racecard.
The biggest race of the afternoon, the Champion Stakes, is set to feature one of the stars of the season, Economics, who is bidding to follow up last month’s victory in the Irish equivalent, but he will need to get the better of the mighty impressive Calandagan.
Kyprios will be expected to kick off the card by completing an unbeaten campaign in the British Champions Long Distance Cup after bouncing back to his brilliant best in 2024.
Elsewhere on the card, the first two home in last year’s British Champions Sprint Stakes – Art Power and Kinross – are set to go at it again, while Charyn will attempt to repeat his Royal Ascot success in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes but £10,000 bargain buy Prague will hope to have his say after being supplemented.
