The Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh is one of the biggest races of the season for juveniles.
The 6f contest has been won by a number of smart horses over the years including Mastercraftsman and Caravaggio, both of whom were saddled by Aidan O’Brien, the most successful trainer in the history of the race since 1950.
The Ballydoyle maestro failed to trouble the placings in last season’s renewal as Bucanero Fuerte beat subsequent Group 1 winner Porta Fortuna.
