Ash Tree Meadow wins the Galway Plate in 2023

It may be the height of summer but the Galway Plate is one of the most prestigious prizes on offer in the National Hunt sphere.

The lucrative handicap is worth €270,000 and the first past the post after 14 fences and 2m6½f at the Ballybrit track will collect a cool €159,300 for connections.

Ash Tree Meadow scored a commanding victory in last season’s renewal and is bidding to become the first horse since Ansar in 2005 to successfully defend his crown.
