When is the 1000 Guineas 2024? Newmarket date, start time, runners and betting

HQ is calling!

Mawj and Tahiyra in the 1000 Guineas

The 1000 Guineas at Newmarket takes pride of place on the calendar as the second Classic of the British Flat season.

It is a chance for the three-year-old fillies to take centre stage and a number of hopefuls including Aidan O’Brien’s Ylang Ylang, Godolphin runner Dance Sequence and Karl Burke’s Fallen Angel staked their claims in the last campaign.

The 2023 edition was a cracker as Mawj and Tahiyra battled all the way to the line and the form worked out well as the winner followed up at the top level Stateside, the runner-up won three Group 1s on the spin, while third place Matilda Picotte has since landed black type on two occasions.
