Dublin Racing Festival: Sunday’s Leopardstown racecard, how to watch and tips

Eight cracking contests.

A cracking afternoon of racing lies in store at Leopardstown on day two of the Dublin Racing Festival.

The Grade 1 Irish Champion Hurdle is the feature and State Man bids to retain the title and confirm the form with stablemate Impaire Et Passe from the Matheson Hurdle, although dual Cheltenham Festival winner Bob Olinger provides fresh opposition.

There is also top-level action courtesy of the Dublin Chase as El Fabiolo attempts to confirm his superiority over the minimum distance, Willie Mullins’ trio of Fact To File, Gaelic Warrior and Grangeclare West go to war in the Ladbrokes Novice Chase, while hype horse Ballyburn tackles the Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle.

A bumper field of 25 including Paddy Power Chase winner Meetingofthewaters go to post for the Grade 3 O’Driscolls Irish Whiskey Leopardstown Handicap Chase, which looks an absolute belter. There are also a couple of Listed handicap hurdles and a Mares Grade 2 bumper rounds off proceedings.

As well as being one of the most prestigious meetings of the whole season, important clues and pointers for the Cheltenham Festival will be revealed over the weekend.
