The Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup tops the bill on the opening day of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown.
Galopin Des Champs bids to win the Grade 1, emblazoned with our fearless leader’s name, for the second season in a row but will need to beat new rival Fastorslow at the third time of asking to retain the crown.
If that wasn’t enough, there are three more top-level contests on Saturday’s card – the Irish Arkle featuring Marine Nationale, Predators Gold versus Loughglynn in the Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle, while Triumph clues will be on offer in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle.
A couple of big-field handicaps feature for each-way punters to consider before the Grade 2 bumper, featuring last year’s winner A Dream To Share, rounds off proceedings.
As well as being one of the most prestigious meetings of the whole season, important clues and pointers for the Cheltenham Festival will be revealed over the weekend.
The latest Leopardstown odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise everything you need to know about Saturday at the 2024 Dublin Racing Festival is below.
