Superstar mare Alpinista was first past the post in last year’s thrilling renewal to hand experienced handler Sir Mark Prescott the biggest victory of his training career, but she will not be back at Longchamp to defend her crown after being retired to stud.

Prix du Jockey Club winner Ace Impact has been all the rage in the build up to the Arc as the French dream of their first winner in the race since 2020, however a three-year-old has not landed the spoils since the incredible Enable in 2017.
