The beauty of the Flat is that quality meetings come thick and fast – and the St Leger Festival at Doncaster is this season’s next big date.
The fifth and final Classic of the year, the titular St Leger, is the feature and there are 30 contests on the schedule across four days of action between Thursday, September 14 and Sunday, September 17.
We could witness the first Royal winner of a Classic since 1977 as Desert Hero bids to complete his remarkable rise to the top table in Saturday’s big race.
There are seven more Group races at the St Leger Festival including the Doncaster Cup, which sees the progressive Sweet William – narrowly denied in the Ebor last time out – take aim at last year’s winner Coltrane and runner-up Trueshan.
The latest juvenile form lines will also emerge courtesy of lucrative contests including the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes on Friday and Champagne Stakes on Saturday.
The latest Doncaster St Leger Festival odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise the race times and day-by-day schedule for this year’s meeting is below.
