Aidan O’Brien is one of the greatest trainers to have graced the game and has become a record holder at Royal Ascot 2023.
The Ballydoyle master has saddled an incredible 84 winners at the famous meeting over the years, overtaking Sir Michael Stoute’s all-time total courtesy of two successes on the opening day of this year’s meeting.
He is also the leading trainer in the history of Royal Ascot’s marquee race, the Gold Cup, with eight winners including four back-to-back successes courtesy of super stayer Yeats.
O’Brien is set to send a strong team across the Irish Sea to Ascot including Irish 2000 Guineas hero Paddington, Tattersalls Gold Cup scorer Luxembourg and emerging sprinter Little Big Bear.
It’s fair to say the yard is in fine form as O’Brien’s horses are operating at a 22 per cent strike rate over the last 14 days.
