Noble Yeats will bid to become the first Irish-trained winner of the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris – the French Gold Cup – since Troytown in 1919 this weekend.
Last year’s Grand National winner heads to Auteuil off the back of placing fourth in this season’s Aintree marathon and Emmet Mullins’ stable star faces 17 rivals in the 3m6f contest that boasts a €820,000 prize pot.
There is further Irish representation courtesy of Willie Mullins, who fires a couple of darts in the form of last year’s third Franco De Port and Thyestes winner Carefully Selected, while Rachael Blackmore takes the ride on David Cottin’s runner Gessy Raiselle.
