The Punchestown Gold Cup is the feature race on the Punchestown Festival schedule and Galopin Des Champs is bidding to back up last month’s victory in the Cheltenham equivalent.

Willie Mullins’ stable star got the better of King George winner Bravemansgame at the March mega meeting and the pair are set to clash after England’s best staying chaser was given the green light to cross the Irish Sea following ownership issues.

Just three horses have completed the Cheltenham-Punchestown Gold Cup same season double, with Sizing John being the last horse to achieve the feat in 2017.

A victory for Galopin Des Champs would also hand a record-extending seventh success in the race to Closutton master Mullins, who witnessed Allaho deliver a super round of jumping to come out on top in last year’s renewal.

As well as being one of the last remaining Grade 1s of the National Hunt season, a bumper prize pot worth €177,000 is on offer to winning connections.

You can run the rule over our Punchestown Gold Cup odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details about this year’s renewal can be found below.
