A victory for Galopin Des Champs would also hand a record-extending seventh success in the race to Closutton master Mullins, who witnessed Allaho deliver a super round of jumping to come out on top in last year’s renewal.
As well as being one of the last remaining Grade 1s of the National Hunt season, a bumper prize pot worth €177,000 is on offer to winning connections.
