Paddy Power punters are supporting Rachael Blackmore’s horse in the 2023 Grand National at Aintree.
The County Tipperary native is riding Ain’t That A Shame, whose price for the world’s greatest steeplechase has been tumbling since final declarations when her booking was confirmed.
She made history in 2021 by becoming the first female jockey in history to win the Grand National after steering Minella Times to glory.
Ain’t That A Shame – trained by Henry de Bromhead for owners Robcour – will be Blackmore’s fifth spin in the Grand National, but her mount has limited experience over the larger obstacles.
The Jeremy gelding won a Beginners Chase at Gowran Park last time out to finally break his maiden status over fences at the seventh time of asking.
The BHA handicapper has rated Ain’t That A Shame at 146 meaning he will carry 10st 5lbs around the Grand National course at Aintree.
Timeform: [Ain’t That A Shame] was shaping up well this season before opening account over fences in Gowran maiden in the mud 5 weeks ago, readily coming clear despite a couple of mistakes. Could have a bigger effort in the locker now contesting a marathon handicap and one to note under 2021-winning rider Rachael Blackmore.
