Aintree Grand National 2023 confirmed runners and riders

Last year's winner is back for more!

Noble Yeats wins the Grand National at Aintree

Noble Yeats faces 38 rivals in his bid to make it back-to-back victories in the Grand National on Saturday.

Sean Bowen has been the eight-year-old’s regular partner in the saddle since Sam Waley-Cohen’s retirement in the wake of last year’s famous win and he is booked to ride once again.

Any Second Now and Delta Work, the second and third in 2022, also take their places in the line-up in Saturday’s 17:15 as does antepost favourite Corach Rambler.

Derek Fox has overcome injury to partner the dual Ultima Handicap Chase winner and is bidding to ride the winner of the world’s greatest steeplechase for the second time.

Irish runners dominate the field with 25 of the 39 being trained in the Emerald Isle including six for Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins’ quintet of Capodanno, Carefully Selected, Gaillard Du Mesnil, Mr Incredible and Recite A Prayer.

Rachael Blackmore, who made history by becoming the first female jockey to win the Grand National, is booked to ride Ain’t That A Shame for trainer Henry de Bromhead.

There are two more Grand National-winning jockeys in the field as Davy Russell partners Galvin and Ryan Mania is on Hill Sixteen.

Born By The Sea sneaks into the field at number 40 but is one of a few horses officially outside the handicap.
