The Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse is finally here – but who is the favourite for the lucrative Jumps contest on Easter Monday?

Despite a starting price of 40/1, Lord Lariat scored a comfortable victory in last year’s renewal to hand trainer Dermot McLoughlin a third-straight win following Freewheelin Dylan’s shock 150/1 triumph in 2021.

An intriguing twist – and something that is worth noting before placing a bet – is that the Irish Grand National takes place before the big one at Aintree this year.

The latest Irish Grand National odds are on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise prices of the leading contenders can be seen via our snazzy betting widgets below.

Amirite is the favourite with Paddy Power for the Irish Grand National after a decent performance in the Grade 3 Finlay Ford At Naas Novice Chase last time out.

It was the seven-year-old’s fourth crack at the larger obstacles and his form ties in with Thedevilscoachman and Chemical Energy, who were second and fourth in that race.

Rachael Blackmore is on board for trainer Henry de Bromhead and Amirite has to carry 10st 4lbs thanks to his mark of 138.

Stumptown will race off a low mark of 133, which is 2lbs lower than his rating for the Kim Muir when he finished a neck second, although he is officially 1lb out of the handicap.

A six-year-old winner of the Irish Grand National is a rare beast, however, with just two horses of the same age landing the big prize in this century.

Victory in the Grade 3 Hugh McMahon Memorial Novice Chase at Limerick saw Thedevilscoachman emerge as a leading player in our antepost betting for the Irish Grand National.

The winner of last season’s Boyne Hurdle is a second-season novice over fences and has got his act together over the larger obstacles this campaign.

Panda Boy has displayed a talent for staying trips with victories over three miles when tackling flights and fences.

Martin Brassil’s gelding only suffered a 4lbs rise in the handicap for an impressive third place in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown in December so there could still be plenty of wiggle room in his 140 rating.
