Paddy’s Pick 5: Punters split £/€50,000 jackpot on Saturday

A whole lot of Paddy punters struck it lucky this week in the Pick 5 and pocketed a tidy sum....

You surely know the story by now, right?

Select five horses in Saturday’s featured races and you could win a whopping great wedge of wonga in Paddy’s Pick 5 contest if they win and it doesn’t cost you a shilling.

Couldn’t be simpler, could it?

Well, apart from knowing which horses to pick.

Though a stunning 50 (fifty!) punters out of almost 40,000 entrants this week had no difficulty choosing their runners and riders across Warwick, Kempton and Fairyhouse.

And with no winner last week, the prize pool was up to £/€50,000, meaning a nice even split of £/€1,000 each for all the OCD readers out there.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Grey Dawning in Warwick’s 2:25 contest got the ball rolling at 9/2 for Dan Skelton before another of his charges, West Balboa, took the 2:40 at Kempton to make it 2-for-2.

Iwilldoit in the 3:00 at Warwick, eh, did it for our punters and then it was over to Fairyhouse for 3:22 race where Must Be Obeyed dictated from the first to the finish putting our pickers just one winner away from a windfall.

But there was minimal sweating over it as Glimpse Of Gala justified 7/4 favourtism to bring in our winners’ fab five.

What a fine way to jazz up January.

And I know what you’re thinking – ‘good for them, what about me Paddy?’

Fret not, the Pick 5 returns next Saturday with a sweet £/€25,000 up for grabs, just keep your eyes on Paddy Power News this Thursday and we’ll have Saturday’s contest ready to roll.

Can hardly wait, and the ever-thrilling Ts&Cs can be found here if you’re looking for something to read to pass the time. Enjoy.
