Punchestown is preparing to stage the latest renewal of the John Durkan Memorial Chase at the second time of asking after the fixture’s original date was cancelled due to the freezing conditions.
Willie Mullins is set to unleash Galopin Des Champs for his first run of the campaign but the Gold Cup antepost favourite will not be joined by stablemate Allaho, who misses out on the chance to defend his title due to a training setback.
The illustrious honours list includes the likes of Dawn Run, Kicking King and Don Cossack and a healthy prize pot worth €50,150 is on offer to winning connections.
You can run the rule over our John Durkan odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details about this year’s renewal can be found below.

Galopin Des Champs is the red-hot favourite with Paddy Power to land the John Durkan as the antepost Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite bids to score at the top level on his first crack at open company.
Fakir D’oudairies is rated by our traders as the most likely to chase home the market leader and the multiple Grade 1 winner is prolific at the intermediate distance.
Fury Road is also prominent in the betting and Gordon Elliott’s gelding has race fitness on his side having landed the Grade 2 Eventsec Chase last month.
