LET'S 'AV IT!

Legendary football manager Ian Holloway has turned horse racing trainer ahead of today’s Grand National at 17:15.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

The Bristol-born boss has taken his fiery locker-room team-talks to the stable to try and eke out that extra 1% required from his horses to triumph at Aintree.

The ex-QPR and Blackpool boss berates his under-performing ponies before a rousing speech has the stable lads and superstar steeplechasers naying with delight.

“You modern horses are all the same,” Holloway roars. “You don’t run well you blame everybody but yourselves, your trainers, your jockeys. You want to take a look at yourselves.

“What were you doing in the ring just now, son? F*****g trotting around like Lord Horsey Horse! My nan could run better than that and she’s dead!”

Whether this fire and brimstone approach will work on modern horses remains to be seen but it did the job on the equally-pampered Premier League stars.

The 59-year-old ends his rally cry with an emotional plea. “Go out there and run the race of your lives. Don’t do it for me, do it for the little old ladies who put a quid on each way. That’s two quid!

“Let’s do this the right way. If you’re not sure what the right way is, let’s hoof it up the field and we’ll talk about it after.” He continues, “So, come on! Let’s have it! It’s the Grand f*****g National!”
