The richest race in the world takes place on Saturday evening as the King Abdulaziz Racetrack in Riyadh plays host to the Saudi Cup.
A bumper prize pot worth £15m, including £7.4m to winning connections, is up for grabs and a field of 14 are set to go to post at 5.35pm for the 1m1f Group 1 contest.
Mishriff secured top honours last year and is bidding to become the highest earning racehorse in history. John & Thady Goshen’s charge has already amassed £11.1m in earnings and can surpass Winx’s record of £14.5m if he successfully defends his title.
You’ll find everything you need to know about the Saudi Cup below.
Mishriff heads Paddy Power’s betting market for the Saudi Cup as the five-year-old attempts to defend his crown. He has not been seen on track since placing fourth behind Sealiway in last season’s Champion Stakes at Ascot.
Mandaloun, who has won on his last four starts including the Grade 3 Louisiana Stakes at Fair Grounds in January as a warm up, is next in the betting.
Paddy’s international racing trader Donal McKenna is all over Saturday’s action at Riyadh and he’s picked out his fancy for the Saudi Cup.
Donal McKenna: Just this week MANDALOUN was officially promoted to winner of the Kentucky Derby, so winning here would cap off some week for connections. The Saudi Cup has been the long held plan for Mandaloun since his Kentucky Derby run and his victory last time out in the Louisiana stakes was really impressive from a horse that was 80 per cent. I expect him to run his typical race, sitting in just behind the leaders and making his move in the home stretch. He has been given the ideal draw to achieve this and he is my best bet on the card.

Saudi Cup draw
Mishriff has been handed the widest draw possible from stall 14 in his bid to retain the Saudi Cup.
Thady Gosden said: “Obviously it’s not ideal but last year he was in 12, so hopefully he will jump well and be able to run down the backstretch.
“He still has the same enthusiasm (at home), he still has a bit of a buck and a play and shows us he’s feeling well. He’s in good form.”
Juddmonte-owned Mandaloun appears to be the main danger after three wins in a row and has been given a handy draw in stall six.
