Well, well, well, if it isn’t one of the biggest dates on the sporting calendar. The Irish Champions Weekend promises to be a bumper couple of days of racing with 10 Group contests.
We’re talking about the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the crème de la crème of the Flat world descending on Leopardstown and the Curragh.
Leopardstown plays host to the opening day of the meeting on Saturday September 11, with the Irish Champion Stakes at 14:45 being the standout race. The Group 1 contest over 1m 2f was rated as the second-best race in the world last year. St Mark’s Basilica, Tarnawa and Poetic Flare are all expected to feature in what should be a blockbuster renewal.
It’s a short hop over to the Curragh on Sunday September 12 for the second day, and the track’s eight-race card boasts four Group 1 races including the final Irish Classic of the season, the Irish St Leger.
If you can’t make it to either of the courses then you’re in luck as we’ll be live streaming all 16 renewals on paddypower.com/horse-racing.
Below you’ll find details of all the races, start times and Paddy Power’s latest antepost odds for the Irish Champions Weekend.
Paddy’s racing traders have priced up the feature races on both days of the Irish Champions Weekend and will have markets for all 16 renewals after final declarations.
*Odds quoted on the widget are Future Racing/Antepost prices which means that if your selection does not run in the race for whatever reason, you will lose your stake under traditional antepost rules
