It’s the penultimate day of racing on the Knavesmire as the sprinters take centre stage at the Ebor Festival 2021. With seven races on the card including three Pattern contests, it’s shaping up to be another thrilling day of action.
We could have a winner from across the pond in the Nunthorpe Stakes (3.35pm), the day’s feature race, with Wesley Ward’s Golden Pal prominent in Paddy Power’s betting market after a recent Group 3 victory at Saratoga.
A slick field of 15 is declared including King George Stakes winner Suesa, C&D winner Winter Power and the ultra-consistent Dragon Symbol.
Just five runners are set to go to post in the Lonsdale Cup (2.25pm) but it promises to be an intriguing renewal as Stradivarius goes up against Trueshan and Spanish Mission.
The Gimcrack Stakes (3pm) is the third of the day’s big contests as the leading juveniles slug it out over 6f.
