Fantastic five-fold sees crafty Irish punter score over €3.5k off only €1.44 stake

A classic bet based at the Curragh landed the loot!

The weather may have been as mighty as the sporting fare on offer last weekend, but a beautiful bet has left our number crunchers feeling as sore as Max Verstappen was after being spun off by Lewis Hamilton at Copse corner.

That’s right, one of our customers have sent us crashing down yet again with a punt that has to be seen to be believed on Sunday. Our winner – who hails from Cork, Ireland – correctly called FIVE winners from the day’s racing action at the Curragh, beating off odds of 2,541/1 in the process.

The tidy punt came up in just the space of four hours, as our victor gleefully watched winner after winner rack up at the Co Kildare track. When all was said and done, our punter had netted a tasty €3,660 off just a stake of just €1.44 stake. Let’s tell you how the cash was claimed.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

The opening selection of the day came in the 13:35 and our winner picked the favourite CONCERT HALL (11/8) – the first of three Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien link-ups on the betslip – to do the business. Thankfully, the filly didn’t disappoint to win by half a length, but she was made to work for it by Voice Of Angels. Concert Hall was in front two furlongs from home, however Voice Of Angels hit back to lead and O’Brien’s charge had to dig deep to regain the advantage with 100 yards to go to the line.

It was a more straightforward affair next up, as our customer had gone for Aidan O’Brien’s ORDER OF AUSTRALIA to get it done in the 14:10 at 2/1. The Breeders Cup Mile winner lived up to the pre-race hype, and keep on well at the finish after a fine ride by Moore to beat a game Njord into second by 1-and-a-quarter lengths.

Our victor was three-from-three after the 15:20 contest, as EMPHATIC ANSWER’s performance certainly lived up to her name. Joseph O’Brien’s filly went off at odds of 11/4 and they were probably justified as she made all to see off Celtic Crown by 2-and-a-half lengths at the Co Kildare venue.

Next up was the 16:30 and our punter was looking to yet another Aidan O’Brien entrant in YARRAWONGA (9/1) to get to the hill. There was no need to panic though, as Ryan Moore skillfully steered the colt to the front 3 furlongs from the winning post, and he never left the lead go to secure a 1-and-quarter length victory ahead of Zaynudin.

That meant our customer’s hopes all rested on the biggest odds gamble on the betslip in the 17:30 as PROVOCATEUSE went off at 14/1. Jessica Harrington’s filly calmed the tension almost straight away though, as she jumped straight out in front and never left her advantage slip – making all to land the loot for winner with a 2-and-three-length success ahead of Arnhem in second spot.

That result saw €3,660 wing its way south to Cork, and all we can do is tip our cap to yet another Punting Hall Of Fame worthy bet!
