The feature Group 1 four-year-old chase returns to this track having been staged at Compiegne in 2020. It’s a chase for four-year-olds that all have a big future ahead of them and I quite like QUEEN DU BERLAIS for the David Cottin team.
She looking to bounce back from being fourth to the likely favourite Le Listrac here last month, where she may have a had some excuses as her jumping wasn’t near as slick as her previous two victories. Should David Cottin get her back jumping fluidly, I reckon she can turn the tables and win here.
2021 has been Rachael Blackmore’s year and I don’t believe her luck with change at Auteuil on Sunday. France Gallop were very keen to get her to Paris to promote the sport and hence she was confirmed to ride here before she had a ride.
So it’s no surprise that the uber shrewd David Cottin has booked her for his exciting gelding AJAS, who despite having his sternest test in this one has been steadily improving. Blackmore is the key to getting a few more pounds of improvement here.
Hermes Baie is expected to go off here at an odds on price having won his last two races. But, RAFFLES FACE really strikes me as the each-way play of the day.
Francois Nicolle’s gelding has been habitually second in his last three starts, but is certainly a good jumper. I reckon with some luck in running, he can really put it up to Hermes Baie here.
