17:25 – LOperateur
Having looked somewhat unlucky at Windsor, L’OPERATEUR may gain compensation provided things pan out more favourably. Second choice Willyorwon’t He is another major player on handicap form, while third choice Carpentier seems likely to build on his reappearance effort. Several others are unexposed types who also have possibilities in an open contest.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
18:00 – Crystal Casque
On the back of a solid effort at Nottingham, CRYSTAL CASQUE has a strong chance off the same mark. Handicap debutant Bonneval is second on the shortlist, ahead of Tahitian Prince who is taken to reverse Lingfield placings with Princesse Animale (that race was steadily run and the latter seemed to cope with it better).
18:35 – Smart Start
The vote goes to SMART START, who nearly won his sole juvenile race and looks open to progress this season. Super Over may prove the biggest threat, provided he responds well to the gelding operation and new headgear. About half of the field are newcomers and any market moves should be heeded.
19:05 – Gift Horse
The one to beat is GIFT HORSE, who went close at Lingfield last time despite unfavourable circumstances. Adaay In Asia ties in with the selection on that bare form, while Modern Artist and Silver Kitten have also shown promise. There are some interesting types among the newcomers, notably Oscula whose trainer is in great form with 2yos.

19:35 – Utile
Unexposed filly UTILE looks interesting back at the scene of her debut win. The progressive Goldie Hawk is feared most, ahead of Valyrian Steel.
20:05 – Tomouh
Caspian Queen is worth another crack at 7f and her stable debut was promising so she’s on the shortlist. Stone Circle has the ability to go well dropped in class, while Thrill Seeker is reliable on AW and Paxos continues to improve. The well-bred TOMOUH took a good step forward when second at Chelmsford 13 days ago, however, and the way she travelled through the race offers hope that this opening mark could underestimate her.
20:35 – Yagood
Bug Boy should be able to win a small race on the AW off his lowly mark and he’s respected, while Hammy End, Celtic Classic, It’s How We Roll and Super Superjack are others to warrant a second look. The Wolverhampton event in which YAGOOD (nap) finished ahead of Danking could prove the key formline though and a 2lb rise for the selection looks lenient.
