Eddie Lynam has one runner in Romantic Proposal but it’s a bit of stretch to drop him from 7f to 5f so I can’t really tip that. The one I’ll go for is course and distance winner Mi Esperanza. He’s trained by Andrew Kinsella and Andrew Slattery is on board. Mi Esperanza should go pretty close and is worth a punt.
Quick Suzy won by 5.5l at Curragh earlier this month and looked good so I was bit taken by that. Quick Suzy will probably be too big a price to turn down, even though Contarelli Chapel could easily go and win this one.
I found this race quite hard to get my head around and I’ve decided to take a chance on Laws of Indices for Ken Condon and Billy Lee. He was a bit disappointing first time out this year at Leopardstown in April, finishing fifth. However, there was some decent form last year, especially in the summer. We’re coming into the time of year where Laws of Indices seems to perform to his best. It’s not a hugely confident selection, but Laws of Indices is worth a go.
Njord won the Balmoral Handicap at Ascot last season although the ground was a good bit softer. Any rain at Naas will help. Njord hasn’t run since March so I’m hoping the break will see him come into form again and stay there for the rest of the summer.
