New to Paddy Power?
There’s some cracking racing on the ITV tellybox later but I’ll have one eye trained on Navan at 2.30pm and SIMBA POWER. We think she’ll improve a lot for her debut run at Dundalk when sixth to Iva Batt and while we haven’t had a winner in the Power colours for a long time, hopefully she can start to address that.
Newbury 13:50 – Tactical
For me it was a toss up with Creative Force but I just went for Tactical because he didn’t have the clearest of runs last time and still had the pace to get out of trouble and win. He’s also won on good to soft ground so the conditions should be fine.
Newmarket 14:05 – John Leeper
I thought John Leeper would go close enough in the Dante, if I was right about that he should be winning this for sure!
Newbury 14:25 – Logician
Al Aasy looks hard to beat but I’m choosing to both forgive Logician for his only ever defeat and ignore that the Gosden stable is a bit cold at the moment! On the plus side, this is the biggest price Logician has been since his first ever race.
Newmarket 14:40 – Bellosa
Bellosa won by 7L on her debut. I’ve no idea how good she is but I’d imagine she’s better than alright to get the job done in this one.
Newbury 15:00 – Bay Bridge
Bay Bridge was really taking when he stepped up to 1m2f for the first time, winning by 5L on the all weather at Newcastle. He’s better than that again I’d say.
Newmarket 15:15 – Perotto
Perotto was second last time here but was very slowly away after rearing in the stalls and must have used up loads of petrol to even catch up with them. There’s more there than the form book says.

Newbury 15:35 – Lope Y Fernandez
Lope Y Fernandez probably disappointed a bit as a 3 year old but hosed up in a listed race at Leopardstown this term. Obviously that’s not good enough on its own but in a Group 1 with Aidan O’Brien on fire and the Palace Pier team (John and Thady Gosden) stuttering, I’m taking a chance that this will be his year.
Paddy Power’s best bets for Saturday:
Newbury 13:50 – Tactical
Newmarket 14:05 – John Leeper
Newbury 14:25 – Logician
Newmarket 14:40 – Bellosa
Newbury 15:00 – Bay Bridge
Newmarket 15:15 – Perotto
Newbury 15:35 – Lope Y Fernandez
