16:45 – Huntsmans Jog

Although Ebony Gale could not add to his Taunton win last time, he retains potential over fences along with Heavey, who ran well to be second back over hurdles on his latest outing. However, both may have to give best to HUNTSMANS JOG (nap), a dual point winner who tries his luck over regulation fences after some decent hurdling efforts. Ebony Gale may give him most to do.

17:15 – Demon DAunou

Having shown more before unseating his rider at Carlisle last time, Do Wanna Know could make his presence felt but he, like others in this race, comes with risks attached. DEMON D’AUNOU was in the doldrums before finishing a close second at Taunton under William Marshall and a repeat of that display could well be good enough to win this. Starjac may give him most to do if the ground does not soften too much.

17:50 – Calidad

A chance is taken on CALIDAD, who has undergone wind surgery since performing beneath expectations on his Cheltenham debut. Presenting Pete has claims but the biggest danger could be Clean Getaway, whose trainer has a terrific record here with his bumper runners.

18:20 – Broomfield Burg

BROOMFIELD BURG was far too keen at Newbury in January but, now equipped with a hood, this winning pointer is well worth another chance. Brorson sets the standard on his runner-up effort over C&D, while Camembert Electric and William Cody are interesting newcomers.

18:50 – Seymour Promise

Macfin looks interesting on today’s handicap debut but one with even greater potential for improvement is SEYMOUR PROMISE, who did quite a bit wrong when fifth in a 2m novice at Huntingdon in March and might well be seen to better effect on this left-handed track and over today’s longer trip. Allenby is another unexposed one to consider, while Heart Of A Lion can pose a threat if he jumps better than on his latest outing.

19:20 – No Ordinary Joe

This should be easy pickings for NO ORDINARY JOE, who impressed when winning a Sandown bumper on his debut and was anything but disgraced in a far better race on his hurdle debut at Ascot. Grosvenor Court looks the main danger though Voyburg can improve on his quite promising hurdle debut fourth now upped in trip.

19:50 – Ballycrystal

Although BALLYCRYSTAL has run more moderate races than good ones in recent times he did look in good form when winning at Newcastle recently and looks worth another go at 3m. Canastero is still at the right end of his career and he can prove the biggest danger, though winning pointer Classic Ruler catches the eye at this realistic level now up in trip for his handicap debut. Hear The Chimes and Mamoo are also likely to be involved.

20:20 – Begin The Luck

Although Authorizo has not done a lot in his recent races, he has come down the weights and the booking of Paddy Brennan catches the eye. He would be one to consider strongly if attracting support but the recent winning form of Power Home and BEGIN THE LUCK is more convincing and the last-named is narrowly preferred after his C&D success. At the bottom of the weights, Cape Fair is an appealing each-way alternative.
