The main players among the once-raced fillies are AMBER DEW, Fabiosa and Pink Storm in that order of preference. Amber Dew is the selection based on her promising effort at Newmarket’s Craven meeting. Kodias Sangarius is first choice among the newcomers but the betting should help to firm up what’s expected.
The Richard Hannon-trained SIR RUMI was a close fourth in the Wood Ditton at Newmarket on his recent debut and looks a useful prospect. Roger Varian won both divisions in 2019 (no running last year) and his newcomer Alhezabr is feared most, ahead of Sun Festival who has been placed on all three starts.
No standout candidate and a chance is taken on HURRICANE HELEN at the foot of the weights. She took a step in the right direction when fifth in a 7f novice at Wolverhampton earlier this month and could be suited by the step back up in trip. Fellow handicap newcomer Divine Magic is feared most, while Run This Way and Puy Mary are also open to improvement and Roman Mist may again be thereabouts.
Well-bred fillies trained by Sir Michael Stoute often get better with age and the unexposed 4yo LIGHTS ON can make a winning reappearance, having made a solid start to her career last year. The very lightly raced Glengowan is an interesting contender in her first handicap and could be the chief danger, ahead of Royal Dynasty and Poet’s Lady.
Previous Listed winner Freyja has shown her best form on heavy ground and it may be best to look to the lightly raced 4yos from the Stoute and Gosden stables. MOSTLY (nap), trained by the latter, won a Kempton handicap in convincing fashion last month and this well-bred filly could have lots more to offer. A La Voile is another who looks likely to progress.

The front-runner HOCHFELD was soundly beaten at Newbury 11 days ago but ran well at Musselburgh earlier this month and could be allowed an uncontested lead in this small field. He’s the selection, although the unbeaten Lostwithiel has to be feared on his handicap debut.
The well-bred Asadjumeirah is open to improvement on this handicap debut but preference is for SHALAA ASKER, who has run two very solid races in defeat since this hood went on. Fighter Pilot could also be involved for the in-form Kevin Ryan.
