LADYWOOD completed the hat-trick with a bit in hand at Lingfield 7 weeks ago so she remains of interest back on turf. Her stablemate Baileys Derbyday is a potential improver upped in trip on handicap bow so may emerge as the biggest threat ahead of Silver Gunn.

13:35 – Restitution

It will be interesting to see how the Gosden pair go against each other in the market, with Robert Havlin riding Ballantruan, but either way RESTITUTION gets the nod on his comeback.

14:10 – Gift Of Kings

More questions than answers, with Goddess Of Fire and Pactolus most effective on the AW and the other pair making their comebacks having been gelded. Turquoise Kingdom looks the one most likely to take them along in first-time headgear, having been off since turned over at odds-on early in the year, but GIFT OF KINGS may be up to extending his new yard’s good run.

14:40 – Moorbik

Fiftyshadesofred and Ironside both fell way below market expectations on their respective debuts and should do better, the latter going in headgear after finishing a remote last at the Craven Meeting. Lost Gold, who’s a half-brother to a French 1,000 Guineas winner in Castle Lady, is an interesting newcomer, but the vote goes to MOORBIK, who shaped nicely when splitting two subsequent winners on the AW last backend.

15:15 – Byzantia

There’s no guaranteed pace in here, with Greek Kodiac perhaps most likely to take them along. Turntable is well suited by a straight 1m and respected for a yard among the winners, but BYZANTIA has the most potential after everything that could have gone wrong on her stable debut did, with her pulling hard off a steady pace over 1m2f, forced to race wide and inclined to hang right.

15:50 – Dazzling Dan

Ridden with more restraint than usual two weeks ago in a Newmarket sprint in which the leaders never came back, DAZZLING DAN (nap) will find this less competitive off a career-low mark, and the seventh furlong round here in a small field on fast ground looks ideal now. Revolutionise has won twice on AW this year and has a much lower turf mark.

16:25 – Maurice Dancer

A trappy finale, in which there’s no guaranteed pace, can go to MAURICE DANCER who’s used to plying his trade in better company, including when going close over C&D off a 4lb higher mark last summer. Cmon Cmon, who’s been running well at Newcastle lately in races not run to suit, is another to consider.
