BIG DIFFERENCE is still a maiden over fences but he’s been knocking at the door and today’s longer distance could well bring about some improvement. He gets the verdict over Gran Paradiso, who has taken off since being fitted with blinkers by his excellent trainer. Among others with clear chances are Boyhood, Tea Time On Mars and Bafana Blue.

There may be more to come from Gunsight Ridge, who looks weighted to the hilt but still retains low mileage. KAKAMORA (nap) enters handicaps but such was the manner of his Huntingdon success last time that this return to 2m4f on a sound surface may simply accelerate his present rate of improvement. Fugitives Drift, with trip and ground to suit again, appeals most of the rest.

Only five runners, but any of them could win a fascinating Listed chase. Chilli Filli has performed well on both occasions she’s been ridden by Richard Patrick and may outrun her likely odds, but preference is for ZAMBELLA, who had not been asked for her effort when coming down at Cheltenham last month. Her stamina is unproven but she runs as if she’ll stay. Dame De Compagnie was disappointing at the Festival but she’s a big player on her best hurdles form and receives weight from all her rivals.
