A weak race and on the book it concerns two horses. There looks to be some doubt about The Greek dropping back to this trip on a sharp track like this, and despite showing some wayward tendencies at Limerick last week, the safer bet might just be THE CATHAL DON. Hurricane Alex and Ballydoyle cast-off Mr Tambourine Man might be next best.

16:55 Powerful Ted (NAP)

An open handicap hurdle. Toms Courage and Rock On Seamie both come into the race in good form and Dawsons Cottage runs well fresh, but two potentially well-handicapped horses might pave the way here. Silvertown makes appeal off a mark of 104 and should have improvement in him over hurdles, but the one to make most appeal is POWERFUL TED (nap), not seen since finishing third in a Leopardstown premier handicap last September and could be thrown in here.

17:25 An Taibhse

A very weak affair where few make any appeal. Tango Theatre is respected on her good fourth at Fairyhouse to Light Brigade, but if AN TAIBHSE can run anywhere near the level she has shown in two maiden hurdles to date she should be much too good.

17:55 Buddy Rich

By far the most convincing form is held by BUDDY RICH and he can probably afford to run below his best and still win. Hurdles debutant Ardera Ru looks the most viable alternative.

18:25 Land Jet

Four Horsemen will be popular but the form of LAND JET’S Gowran Park third has been working out well and he could be open to further progression. Esthers Marvel is another obvious contender.
