13:05 Bannow
Credence Star sets a fair standard and may be suited by the drop to this trip judging by his pedigree (plenty of speed on dam’s side), but he’s not bombproof in this grade by any means and preference is for BANNOW.
Kevin Ryan’s runner flopped in soft ground on his only juvenile start, but he’s since been gelded and could be an entirely different proposition on this much quicker surface (dam’s best form was on fast ground).
New to Paddy Power?
13:40 Tanasoq
Autumn Flight has to be taken seriously in his hat-trick bid, but he’ll need to keep a straighter course than when winning at Chelmsford last time. Veteran Secretinthepark ran well at Newmarket on his recent return and is considered, but TANASOQ might be the answer after a promising stable debut at Musselburgh this month.
14:15 Seven Brothers
Popmaster has improved with every start and is the solid one here on the back of a recent Pontefract run, but he’s taken on with SEVEN BROTHERS – one of two runners from the in-form Kevin Ryan stable.
The now-gelded runner created a decent impression when winning his first two starts and he’ll be much better suited by the demands of this race on his handicap debut than he was in the Gimcrack when last seen. Whenthedealinsdone is another with claims.
14:50 Oceanline
It isn’t easy to rule out any of the five runners. Side Shot and Taravara are likely to be popular, but the step up to this trip at this track looks sure to suit OCEANLINE – who is open to plenty of improvement on this turf debut.
15:25 Arabescato
Three last-time-out winners and this can go to ARABESCATO, who turned in a much-improved effort on only his second run for John Butler when winning upped to 2m 2f at Pontefract last time. He is unbeaten over further than 1m 5f and is taken to beat Sashenka, who has been in reasonable heart over hurdles.
16:00 Molly Shaw
Clegane is a player in this company back on turf, despite the drop back in trip, but the one that appeals most is MOLLY SHAW (NAP). Chris Wall has his team in good form and this unexposed sort, who won twice over this trip last year, is the sort to do better this time round. Dandys Gold may prove best of the remainder.
16:30 Lucky Louie
There are several questions over many of these, but it’s worth going with LUCKY LOUIE – who starts the season on a decent mark. He won’t be inconvenienced by ground or trip and the lack of a recent run isn’t an issue (has gone well fresh).
The headgear is back on and he’s taken to beat Lofty, who also goes well fresh and who has had a wind op. At bigger odds Firmdecisions isn’t one to discount, despite a very patchy 2020.
