13:10 DUNDALK – BIG GOSSEY

BIG GOSSEY has been a horse I’ve followed and tipped up on several occasions and I’m hopeful he can strike again for the Charles O’Brien team in the opener at Dundalk on Sunday. The four-year-old returns from a break having disappointed back on grass at the Curragh last month with jockey Gearoid Brouder taking off a valuable 7lbs on the 92-rated runner. There’s plenty of pace on here and having been settled behind runners more recently, the son of Gutaifan can sit back off a strong gallop before striking late for victory.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:20 DUNDALK – TOOREEN ANGEL

TOOREEN ANGEL knows her way around this venue and returns for Fozzy Stack having landed back to back wins here at Dundalk in February and March. The daughter of Battle Of Marengo won by a head on both occasions and will be waited patiently to challenge under Andrew Slattery. The talented young jockey takes off 3lbs from the filly which will help greatly following her improved rating of 74. It looks an open affair with the returning Astadash another recent winner along with Sense Of Worth, Dream Tale and Ragtime Red.

15:13 TRAMORE – SPYGLASS HILL

SPYGLASS HILL can provide local trainer Henry de Bromhead with another winner under Rachael Blackmore in this conditions chase at Tramore on Sunday afternoon. It’s not clicked just yet over fences for the eight-year-old this season, but hopefully this drop back in trip and slightly better ground might see him get over the line for victory.

He was previously fancied for the Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park before finishing third at the same venue to Bachasson, and more recently second at Cork two weeks ago. It’s an open affair with Articulum, Bapaume and Us And Them all with chances, but hopefully the crest of a wave of the de Bromhead/Blackmore combination can drive this horse over the line following last weekend’s Aintree National success.

Tramore-Races

16:55 TRAMORE – ALWAYS ENCHANTING

The closing bumper at Tramore has been a good one for favourite backers in recent years with both Willie Mullins and Henry de Bromhead securing previous wins. The Colsutton team run Memorable Daise on debut, a mare by Presenting who is a sister to Daisy’s Gift and Present Chief. Mind Your Money has the benefit of several previous runs for de Bromhead having raced three times, including a listed fourth at Fairyhouse earlier this month.

However, ALWAYS ENCHANTING gets the vote and will represent some value for Edward O’Grady following her fourth-placed finish on debut at Cork. She made encouraging late headway in that maiden hurdle and looks an interesting runner with further improvement now likely dropping into a bumper under Philip Donovan.

17:15 Dundalk – Shahaada

This looks a good opportunity for SHAHAADA to break her maiden for Kevin Prendergast and the Shadwell team in the finale at Dundalk. The daughter of Awtaad hasn’t been seen since running a nice race when finishing second to Shandra in a Curragh maiden last August.

The third horse, Talacre enhanced the form with victory for Ger Lyons at Gowran Park last September and the mount of Chris Hayes looks the one despite a 247-day absence. Ginsburg looks the obvious danger under the services of Colin Keane with trainer Kieran Cotter using cheekpieces following her recent third last month.
