Matt Chapman: “Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Vieux Lion Rouge can win this race. However, Paddy will be paying plenty of places for the Grand National and I think it’s worth a punt. Vieux Lion Rouge is a fantastic each-way bet.”
Ruby Walsh: “Due to his price, I’m going to look at Class Conti. He had a good run prior to Cheltenham where he finished fourth. Brian Hayes takes the ride on him and at around 50/1, I think it’s a good price.”
Ruby Walsh: “For another horse to get round, I’ll go with Potters Corner. He jumps and stays and he should certainly finish the race. On good to soft ground, you’re looking at around 19-21 finishers on average.”
Paddy Power: “As for Talkischeap, the better the ground the better his chance. He hosed up in the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown over 3m5f, which suggests this marathon trip will be no bother to him. He has a squeak at a price.”
