Aventuriere has made significant progress to win her last two starts, including a dominant victory over this course and distance seven days ago. She was never far away on that occasion and quickly asserted after hitting the front two furlongs out, ultimately winning by two lengths (had plenty in hand).
This will be Aventuriere’s third run in the space of 12 days, but it goes without saying that she is very well treated under a 5 lb penalty if continuing in the same rich vein of form. She remains open to more improvement, too, and should prove up to completing the hat-trick for Mark Johnston, who continues in red-hot form with 12 winners in the last 14 days.
Byzantiashowed fairly useful form in three starts for John Gosden, producing her best effort when last seen getting off the mark at Southwell in November. Settled in mid-division in the early stages, she made good headway to lead entering the final two furlongs and kept going well to land the spoils by three and a quarter lengths.
Byzantia has joined Charlie Fellowes since then and should have more to offer now making the switch to handicaps from a BHA mark of 77, which looks potentially lenient judged on the pick of her form. Fellowes can also boast a profit of £90.21 to a £1 level stake with horses running after a break, so she is unlikely to lack for fitness either.

Henry Croft is a previous winner over this course and distance who looks to hold sound claims if bouncing back to something like his best form in first-time cheekpieces. Admittedly, he has been slightly disappointing this year since returning from nearly 12 months on the sidelines, but better was clearly expected of him when he finished down the field at Kempton last time, with plenty of money coming for him in the betting (backed from 11/2 to 7/2).
This is a weak race where most of them arrive with questions to answer, so Henry Croft could be worth a chance to belatedly justify that confidence, especially now being fitted with headgear.
