Bravo! Clever Irish punter lands terrific 2,339/1 racing treble

This was certainly a Super Saturday for our winner!

Easter Saturday for many is often the final day for people denying themselves a treat before a big blowout on Sunday, but one of our Irish punters got the whole cake a day early by giving our number crunchers a good kick in the crown jewels by betting on Saturday’s racing action on the Emerald Isle.

Our winner – who hails from Co Wicklow – managed to somehow correctly predict three winners, all at double-figure prices, from Saturday’s Irish racing fixtures at Cork and Fairyhouse – bettering odds of 2,339/1 in the process. Best of all, our victor only had to wait about 40 minutes to land the loot, as a €1 stake turned swiftly into €2,340.

Not bad for a Saturday flutter, eh? Let’s tell you how the cash was claimed:

New to Paddy Power?

The 15:30 contest at Fairyhouse was our first port of call and our punter picked LADY BREFFNI (11/1) as the opening selection on the beautiful betslip. The Willie Mullins-trained mare was around the rear of the field three flights from home, but she was produced just at the right time by Danny Mullins onboard and got up to beat outsider Crosshill by just half a length giving our punter the perfect start.

Next on the hit list was a fast spin down the country to Cork, where our winner was hoping Michael Browne’s LOGO HUNTER (14/1) could make it two-from-two on the day in the 15:45. The gelding made difficult work of it by leaning left in the run-in, but grabbed the lead a furlong out and managed to see off Mooneista in second by three-quarters of a length to leave just one selection remaining on the wager.

It was back up to Fairyhouse for the 16:05 race after that, and our customer needed HEARTS ARE TRUMPS to come up trumps at 12/1 to secure the prize. Desmond McDonagh’s gelding was pushed in the closing stages by Magic Trick, however, he hit the front at the last and kept on well to send our punter into dreamland.

That result meant the money was winging its way into our victor’s account and all we can say now is, we’ve got another worthy entrant into our Punting Hall Of Fame!
