Lingfield 14:00 Rainbow Dreamer
ITV coverage on Friday gets under way with this conditions race over 2m. RAINBOW DREAMER is no certainty but on all known form should take the world of beating for Alan King and Martin Harley. The selection has a great record on the all-weather, got back to winning ways last time at Kempton and has a high rating. Hard to beat unless something improves massively.
Newcastle 14:15 Dulas
Newcastle on ITV starts with this handicap over 7f. Not much to get excited about here! DULAS once looked promising here at Newcastle but has been lightly raced since and not done much. He might just be better than an 80-rated runner and Paul Hanagan rides for Charlie Hills. The 7f should not be an issue although much of his form is at 6f.
Lingfield 14:35 Shimmering Dawn
Next a conditions event over 7f for fillies and mares. The conditions are probably best suited to SHIMMERING DAWN who might be an each-way price but has every chance of winning for James Doyle and James Tate. 7f is absolutely her trip, and she’s got good form at the track. Obviously Indie Angel is improving and Fizzy Feet will be hard to catch. But the latter might be better at 6f and the former 1m. Shimmering Dawn is perfect at this trip.
Newcastle 14:50 True Mason
Now a handicap over 6f. TRUE MASON was once rated 109 but can run off 80 now for Philiip Makin and Sean Davis. The trip is ideal, the only problem is his form has been hopeless in its last six or so runs. However, it’s the first run on the all-weather since a reasonable fifth off 95 at Newcastle in June 2020 and he could be chucked in at the weights, if anywhere near returning to form.
New to Paddy Power?
Lingfield 15:10 Summerghand
Now a conditions race over 6f. A wide open event. SUMMERGHAND is never going to be easy to win with at this track in relatively small fields but his natural ability should get him close for David O’Meara and Adam Kirby. He’s held on form by Exalted Angel and one or two others, but basically we all know he’s good enough to win if the gaps open at the right time. Kirby will drop him out and hopefully swoop late.
Newcastle 15:25 Megallan
We’re up in class here with a Listed contest over 1m. Legion of Honour looked good at Newcastle for his win, but MEGALLAN is pretty decent and will take some stopping. He probably should have won last time, but found 7f just a shade too short when last seen at Lingfield. The son of Kingman gets the chance to shine now for the Gosdens and Robert Havlin. Ghost Rider is progressive but this is a big step up.
Lingfield 15:45 Apollo One
Another conditions race here, this time over 6f for three-year-olds. Another tricky race to call. APOLLO ONE should get a good lead from Mighty Gurkha and will be bigger odds than he should be coming from the Peter Charalambous stable. My hope just held on over 7f last time suggesting a strongly run 6f would be ideal. Martin Harley takes the mount and knows the horse well. Should go close.

Newcastle 16:00 Defined
Back to handicap company here over an extended 1m 4f. Tactics will be key in a small field. DEFINED improved up to this trip last time and that stamina might be key here once again for the Gosden team and Robert Havlin. He was beaten by Glen Again over 1m 2f but might be better suited by this trip.
Lingfield 16:15 Bangkok
One of the big features here with a conditions race over 1m 2f. An in form BANGKOK should be far too good for this lot and might be bigger odds than he should be with the Gosdens having a runner in Forest of Dean. Bangkok is already proven as better than that market rival and while he can be a bit in and out he should take all the beating for Andrew Balding and Silvestre de Sousa.
Lingfield 16:45 Khuzaam
And finally at Lingfield the Mile Championships Conditions Stakes. KHUZAAM brings in a strong level of form for Shadwell Estate Co and the mile is no issue despite two recent effort over around 7f. The track should not be an issue as he ran well here on debut and should be very hard to beat for Roger Varian and Jack Mitchell who has done so well on the all-weather over the winter.
So, best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
