16:05 – Stunt

Archie Watson has done tremendously well with his juveniles in recent seasons and runs Stunt on debut in this opening novice race over five furlongs at Kempton. The mount of Cieren Fallon is drawn wide in stall 10 but has a lovely sprinting pedigree, by Muhaarar out of the former Ger Lyons trained mare Ainippe.

The market will provide a guide as always among these newcomers, but the Watson team are in good form and certainly know how to ready one to score first time out.

17:10 – Aussie Rascal

Aussie Rascal ran well at big prices when finishing fifth in two recent starts and looks some value on his handicap debut in this seven furlong handicap. The son of Australia wasn’t beaten far over course and distance last month with several subsequent winners enhancing the form. Regent, who finished third won at Lingfield for John and Thady Gosden last Friday, while Fiordland scored for James Ferguson at Wolverhampton earlier this month.

Tom Ward’s runner was behind Fiordland again at Wolverhampton and can go close off 65 under Richard Kingscote with the stable in good form.

17:45 – Batindi

Batindi returns from a break and is worth a punt for the Archie Watson/Holly Doyle combination in what looks the weaker of the two seven furlong handicaps. The daughter of Bated Breath has improved for each start and was only beaten four lengths behind dual group winner Isabella Giles on debut at Newbury last July.

An opening rating of 62 looks fine against this opposition while the step-up in trip looks another positive in a race that won’t take much winning.

19:15 – Shouldering

It’s nice to see Shouldering back on track for David Menuisier having secured victory in impressive fashion despite getting into trouble in-running at Sandown last July. The daughter of Eqaulette steps-up in trip this evening and the form of that victory has been enhanced with several subsequent winners.

A strong pace would suit under what should be a Jamie Spencer hold-up ride against principal rivals, Bonneval, Troll Peninsula and Mount Marcy.
