Ruby Walsh is backing Noel Meade and Colin Keane to have a super Saturday at Navan, with our resident jockey-turned-pundit tipping the pair up for a tasty double.
County Meath-based trainer Meade has four entries on Saturday’s card, but in particular it is his horses in the Navan Members Handicap races at the end of the day that have caught Ruby’s eye.
Speaking on the latest episode of our From The Horse’s Mouth podcast, the Paddy Power ambassador likes the look of both Colin Keane’s rides – CRASSUS in the division 1 contest and LAURA BULLION in the division 2 race.
“I think Noel Meade and Colin Keane could score in the last two races at Navan, in both divisions of the Navan Members Handicap – Crassus in the 5.20pm and Laura Bullion in the 5.50pm,” said Ruby.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if both of those were just ahead of a lot of the opposition, thanks to their fitness having run already and gone over hurdles.”
Crassus enjoyed a spin in the Grade 3 Norman Colfer Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle at Fairyhouse in February, coming home third behind Teahupoo and Tax For Max on his seasonal reappearance.
Meanwhile, Laura Bullion also got back into the swing of things with a run on the all-weather at Dundalk last month where she finished eighth of 14, 7½l behind Drakensberg.
